Tasks For Every Day
There are some places in your home that you should clean every day. I’m talking about things like doing the dishes and hanging up the towels in the bathroom. Depending on your household, you may not need to run the dishwasher every day, but at least load the dishwasher and get the dirty, yucky dishes out of the sink. It’s also a good idea to pick things up every day. If you (or the kids!) get something out to use or play with, be sure to put it back when you are done using it.
If you have several people in your household, you may be doing laundry tasks every day so you don’t have to spend an entire weekend day separating and folding clothes.
Tasks To Be Done Every Week
Every week you should give the bathrooms a top to bottom scrubbing. Thoroughly clean the tub, toilet and sink and wash the bathroom floor. Then move on to the kitchen where you should really get into cleaning and sanitizing the counter top area. Wipe the outside of the appliances and vacuum, then mop the kitchen floor.
In the remainder of your home, dusting and vacuuming are another weekly task. It’s a good time to change bed linens as well.
Less Frequent Tasks
There are other things in your home that you need to clean, but they are on a less frequent basis. Clean your oven whenever you have a spill in it. The fridge can be wiped out monthly and thoroughly cleaned every six months. Move your furniture away from the walls a couple of times a year to vacuum behind and underneath. Windows will sparkle if you take care of them every six months. Don’t bother to clean your windows during pollen season!
