The Relationship is Built on Basic Thoughtfulness
The relationship between a cleaning service and its client is quite intimate yet very businesslike. When you first embark on a relationship, the cleaning service should make it very clear, in writing, what it expects from its clients. This may include things like asking for clutter to be picked up before the cleaning appointment. The cleaning company will most likely expect payment (either cash, check or credit card on file) at time of service. You, as the client, will be asked to leave fresh linen out if you want the beds changed. Pets must be either friendly or confined in a space where the cleaners do not clean.
A further expectation from the relationship is that if you occasionally need to change or cancel an appointment you will call or email the cleaning company ahead of time to notify them. The company has booked a particular appointment time for the client. Write your recurring appointments in your appointment book. If you need to change the appointment, advance notice gives the company a chance to put someone else into that spot. Last minute cancelations, or even worse, lock outs, do not allow the company to fill that spot. This relationship is based on mutual respect, so both parties must be businesslike and thoughtful regarding the other party.
If the client is not satisfied with the cleaning, they have a responsibility to let the cleaning company know. The cleaning company cannot fix what they are unaware of. Because this is a business relationship, the client should not hesitate to speak up.
The Relationship Puts Several Requirements on the Cleaning Company Too
The cleaning company must be clear with the new client about just what tasks will be done. Ideally, they will give you a written list of tasks to be performed. The relationship depends upon the company fulfilling that promise, so all teams must be thoroughly trained. Excellent service is owed to the client on every visit. The cleaning company must also communicate what tasks will not be done so the two parties are on the same page.
The cleaning company must arrive when it promises on the assigned day. The client is expecting their home to be cleaned. Only the most insurmountable situations should ever cause a cleaning company to change or cancel an appointment. I mean things like snow storms or hurricanes.
When both parties to this relationship abide by general rules of kindness, then both parties will be thrilled with the results. Custom Maid is proud of its decades long history with clients. Try us out! 499-8568
