Spring cleaning in Chesapeake VA seems like a daunting task but it doesn’t need to be. Organization represents the key to efficient spring cleaning.
Start the day before you intend to do the cleaning. Take a pad and paper and walk through each room you intend to clean. Notice everything in each room that will need attention. Cobwebs in the corners, dusty drapes, blinds, heater vents etc. all represent things that you may overlook in quick maintenance cleanings throughout the Chesapeake seasons. Do you have a soap scum build up or mold and mildew in your shower? Spring cleaning is the time to address these issues.
Now that you have a list to work from, gather all the tools you will need into a bucket or tote. You need to be dressed for the job. A comfortable shirt and loose fitting pants will allow you to move with ease. Invest in a carpenter’s apron from your local home store in Chesapeake. The handy pockets will give you a place to carry your cleaning cloths and you will have loops from which you can hang spray bottles.
Tackle the bathrooms first. You won’t find a bad condition, as you clean them as part of your regular weekly maintenance cleaning. If you find soap scum, use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to blast through it. They really are magic! If the shower curtain build up shows mold or mildew from the damp Chesapeake weather, throw it into the washer with hot water and a couple of towels. Do not put it in the dryer, just rehang it.
Use a Swiffer duster with an extendable handle to remove cobwebs from ceiling lines, corners and ceiling fan blades. You will also use this to dust down walls, a key factor in spring cleaning in Chesapeake. Vacuum your draperies with a crevice tool on your vac and the setting on low suction.
