You are driving a ten year old car and you have taken very good care of it, but with a vehicle that old, stuff happens. You have been using the same independent repair shop for the life of your car but they have recently gone out of business. They are the victim of a huge national car repair chain. How could that happen? Maybe you could have helped by giving referrals to your friends, neighbors and co-workers. Small local businesses rely on word of mouth for a lot of their advertising. They probably don’t have a big advertising budget like a national chain would have. The national chain also doesn’t know you or your car. They probably don’t have that personal touch that kept you coming back to Joe every time your car needed attention.
These days, I find that I prefer to frequent local businesses and I notice that they often ask me for a referral or an online review. I almost always do that. I hired a local photographer recently to take pictures for our new website. She did a great job and when I read my emails that night, she wanted to thank me for my business and asked for a referral. I sat right down and gave her five stars.
I am asking all of you who read this and have used our service in the past to go online to Google+ or Yelp or Angie’s List to share your experience with Custom Maid with your friends and neighbors. Go to our home page and you will find links to various review sites at the bottom left side of the page.
We also have a referral program. Whenever you refer a friend to Custom Maid and they sign up for regular recurring service we will give you $50 off your next cleaning and we will also give your friend $50 off a cleaning as well. It’s a win-win-win!
In this age of computers, tablets and smart phones, that is the way people shop. It is important that you help make that experience a good one. So make a resolution to review and refer your friends to local businesses. That will keep your money in the local economy and keep providing jobs to local residents.
We look forward to reading your comments and promise to do our best to earn five stars on every cleaning.
Happy New Year!
