A Clean House is a Happy House
On a recent weekend morning I had to clean my house. After a long, tiring and stressful week at work it seemed a daunting task. I gathered all my cleaning supplies together so I could do a thorough job. I looked around and saw dust, clutter and fingerprints everywhere and my heart sank a little.
This task needed some organization so I grabbed a large basket and walked through the whole house. I put any item that was not where it belonged, in the basket and put it away when I got to its proper place. I took a deep breath and walked into the bedroom. The After changing the bed, straightening everything up and putting things away, I got down to the actual cleaning. I made smudgy marks disappear with a microfiber cloth. My furniture always shines without polish due to the fabulous job that microfiber does. I removed cobwebs (even on ceiling fan blades). I dusted all my collections and I vacuumed the carpet.
After scrubbing the shower and sanitizing the toilet I cleaned the floor on my hands and knees. Luckily, my bathroom floor is not too big! When I clean house, I always take the extra time to shine up all the fixtures until they gleamed. It’s not any cleaner, but the sparkle is very impressive.
I saved the kitchen for last.
Every night after dinner, I clean the kitchen counter tops, quickly wipe down the cabinets and thoroughly mop the kitchen floor to finish the job.
The Best Part of a Clean House
Then I got to the really great part of why I LOVE a clean house. I got to stand in the doorway and look around my now perfect home. Everything sparkled! The carpet showed the lovely parallel tracks I made with the vacuum. I was tired, but gratified.
I slept soundly that night (in my fresh clean sheets) and awoke to my beautiful, clean house. Of course, the drawback is that as soon as I finished the task, the house began to collect more dirt and dust. It’s a good thing I enjoy cleaning so much since it is, after all, a weekly job!
