Gift Giving at the Last Minute

Did you spend the day at the mall today?  If so, you most likely spent a half hour just finding a parking space.  Then you walked half a mile to the mall and fought the crowds.  You finally located a gift that would be okay (not great, but okay) and waited in line to pay for another 15 minutes.  Then repeat that process a half dozen times and I bet you are still not completely done.  Mothers, sisters, aunts, wives, grandparents are difficult to buy for and you scoured the mall for a proper gift.  I haven’t even mentioned wrapping.  Where did you leave the scissors?  How did you run out of  tape?

Gift of Time

Why go through all that when you could just go online or make a quick phone call to Custom Maid at 499-8568 and buy your loved ones the gift of time?  When you give a house cleaning gift certificate for just one cleaning or for ongoing service, you take the responsibility of cleaning away and give back the time the recipient would have spent cleaning.  And let’s face it, no one really likes to clean.  Some people think that giving a gift card is like copping out.  I, on the other hand, love getting gift cards.  It’s like getting two gifts: one when you open the gift and again when you use it.  Gift cards eliminate all kinds of issues like what size? What color? Price? Style?

Our Custom Maid elves will be ready to take your call at 499-8568 Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30.  You can print out a gift card or pick one up in our office (plenty of parking!!).  420 Investors Place, Suite 105, Virginia Beach

From all of us at Custom Maid to you and your family. we wish a Happy and Healthy Holiday and a Prosperous New Year!

Why and how to clean my washing machine Did you know that your washing machine can collect dirt and harbor bacteria and fungus? There is a thin film created by soap residue, minerals and chemicals from detergent. This can cause a clog in the inner workings of your machine, your water won't be as hot and the film also traps odors. The tiny crevices in the drum and gaskets can collect mildew and bacteria from your clothes. They can also harbor fungus. If you have a top loader here are some steps to follow when cleaning : Wipe interior seals around the door with all purpose cleaner Remove debris around filter or drain Use 1 cup of white vinegar with 1/2 cup baking soda then run a cycle on heat If you have a front loader here are some tips to follow when cleaning: Have a small bowl or towel ready to catch any excess water Remove the filter from the small door on the front panel of the machine Shake over trash can and rinse out. Use 1/2 cup baking soda and 3 cups white vinegar to scrub inside the drum and rubber gaskets You can use washing machine cleaner which can be purchased on line if you prefer Remove the fluids dispenser to clean each tray with disinfecting wipes Wipe out the area inside where the dispenser is located with the wipes If you have a "clean cycle" run the cycle, otherwise run the largest load setting on hot We hope this has been a quick and helpful guide for cleaning your washing machine . Remember, your washer should always smell fresh not like mildew.
