Short term. the new year means deciding how to celebrate. Some people enjoy going out to a bar or restaurant and really partying. Others prefer a smaller get together at a friend’s home with a champagne toast at midnight. My preference is spending New Year’s Eve with my twin grand children. We buy sparkling cider and wait for the ball to drop. This year, they will most likely make it ’til midnight as they are now 12. I, on the other hand, will probably drift off to sleep and never see the hullaballoo.
Doesn’t it feel good to take down the tree, pack away the ornaments and decorations until next year and get back to normal? I loooove putting up the tree but I REALLY love getting back to normal.
Do you make New Year’s resolutions? If so, are they the typical ones like losing weight, quitting smoking or getting more exercise? I prefer to either not make any at all since I rarely keep them, or maybe this year I’ll make one to be a better person. I was quite touched by the mother and daughter I wrote about a few weeks ago. They are the ones who founded Blankets for the Homeless Hampton Roads. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blankets-for-the-Homeless-Hampton-Roads/184687141635463. I have asked customers of Custom Maid to contribute blankets, coats and hats to the cause.
Regardless of your hopes for the new year, we at Custom Maid wish you and your families the healthiest and happiest 2014!
