Who Do You Trust, a Professional Service or an Individual?
Think about it. You are at work or just away from home and someone, some relative stranger is in your home cleaning. How do you know if you can trust them to be honest? You hear horror stories of theft, damage, slip and fall injuries caused by or happening to housecleaners. Is this person an individual who works on their own or have you hired a professional cleaning service?
What Happens When Something Goes Missing?
It’s everyone’s worst nightmare. You go to put on your heirloom necklace from Aunt Tillie and it is nowhere to be found. When you hire an individual, you will have to call them and ask the hard questions. However, when you have hired a professional service, one call to the office will get the ball rolling. Often something is just misplaced or was moved but if you really can’t find your necklace, the office will instruct you to make a police report. Then the company will do whatever it takes to cooperate in the investigation up to and including a polygraph if the police request it.
Here is why it is very unlikely that you will ever be missing something when you have hired a professional company: 1. They have thoroughly interviewed the person before deciding to hire them. 2. They have paid for a nationwide background check which will turn up any previous problems there may have been with this person. 3. They will have conducted a drug test.
Do you do any of those things when you hire a housecleaner that may have been referred by a friend or someone who put up a sign at the local supermarket? In addition, a professional company will have a blanket bond that covers the integrity of their staff. If it is proven that an employee of the company did, indeed, steal from you, the bond will cover the replacement cost. No such luck with an individual.
